Langley Secondary School’s Breakfast Program
For the past few years, CLA has partnered with Langley Secondary School to support their essential breakfast program. This initiative is crucial in ensuring that every student begins their day with a nutritious meal, setting a positive tone for the rest of their day. Beyond just providing food, the program fosters a warm and welcoming environment that helps students feel valued and supported.
CLA has had the privilege of partnering with two local public schools to prepare and serve lunch for their students. This important initiative delivers nourishing meals and a warm, inviting atmosphere to HD Stafford Middle School and Nicomekl Elementary School. Volunteering with our dedicated team in the lunch program provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students right here in our community.
Raphael House is about supporting families that are facing hardship in our community, by providing a space where they feel connected and welcomed each week as they pick up heathy and fresh groceries. They see over 300 families come through each week, roughly 1200-1500 people with new families signing up weekly. They provide necessities such as milk, eggs, bread, vegetables, fruit, pantry items, and some toiletries. And plan to have life skill growing opportunities – cooking/baking classes, sewing club, hair/beauty tutorials, etc.
On the fifth Wednesday of each month, CLA takes its turn to serve at the Langley Food Bank. If you can spare an hour or two in the evening, your assistance will make a meaningful impact. This is also a wonderful opportunity to extend the love of Christ to members of our community.
