Transformation Weekend
A word from Pastor Derrick
Christian Life Assembly’s mission can be summed up in one word, TRANSFORMATION. For 85 years God has placed our church in this region to bring transformation to lives. As mentioned last week this is rooted in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. “But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay. ‘Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin.’” Acts 13:37
Transformation begins with forgiveness of sin but then moves graciously to bring healing, life and health to all areas of our being. As our soul is restored, God uproots things that are part of our brokenness and sin, replacing them with things that are spiritual and beneficial. The Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. Fear is replaced with faith in God. We stop living off past experiences to really experience the now. Our scattered, fragmented, and un-centered lives become focused and on mission. This wholeness and reconciliation is a work of the Spirit. All of us need a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit. It brings peace, power, and a deeper walk with Jesus. Out of this communion, transformation flows from us to our families, neighbours and work associates.
I invite you to a two-day event that holds promise of spiritual renewal and refreshment. It will invigorate your personal relationship with Christ and bring greater spiritual authority to your roles, life situations and vocation. Next weekend at the Langley Campus Transformation weekend holds promise. We begin on Friday at 7 pm, the focus is The Cross of Christ. Then all day Saturday we move towards encounter with the Spirit. It includes both lunch and supper. It concludes Saturday night with a beautiful worship service and time of empowerment. If you’ve not been baptized in the Spirit, here is your chance. We are believing for you.
Last Sunday I led a young man to Christ who was broken and in need of a miracle. This week I shared with a man who is hungry for change and humble enough to admit his need. I think you may know someone who needs this weekend. Invite them. Come with them. Believe God for their miracle. This is for all congregations and campuses. For the old and young, mature, and immature, those who have attended before and those who have never attended. Spread the word. Your invitation could be catalytic to bringing transformation to someone else’s life. Register here.
