Greetings CLA Family,
During the month of April our PAOC National Office always highlights The 4/14 Initiative. You may have heard of the 4-14 Window. Studies show that individuals, between the ages of 4 and 14 are the most open and receptive to making a personal commitment to Christ. And, when they make a commitment at this early stage, they’re most likely to continue in their faith commitment. So, our investment in children and their families here at CLA has an eternal return on investment.
We wholeheartedly believe in ministering not only TO children but ministering WITH children. Therefore, on April 10th, Palm Sunday, we will host a Family Service. It’s an opportunity, for children ages 5 and up, to do ministry alongside mentoring adults. Studies also show that only 2 out of 5 kids in children’s ministry have a positive, meaningful relationship with a mentoring adult. When kids have a meaningful relationship with an adult in the church, they are twice as likely to have an ongoing relationship with the church as they grow. They’re three times more likely to be engaged in Scripture, twice as likely to say church matters to them, and three times as likely to see church as a highlight in their week. Yet, only half of adult church members see relationships as a desired outcome for ministry to children. Let’s be revolutionary at CLA. Let’s invest in relationships WITH children.

We’ll gather immediately following the service in the Conference Hall. The Maple Ridge Family Feast will be on Sunday, May 15th. REGISTER your family today. And here’s another great Family opportunity – Our first FAMILY SERVE NIGHT will be held Wednesday, April 27 from 6:30 – 8:30pm in the Conference Hall. Together we’ll pack all 705 BC Boxes of Love with Mandy and her team from CityServe. We need your help! Ages 3 and up are welcome to help. Registration coming soon.
