What a surprise! A few weeks ago on Sunday September 1st at 9am, as I was watching the “Life” sermon series introduction I was confused by what I started to see. Clip after clip from the past ten years. Then board members, pastors and our District Superintendent came on stage. People began to clap, and I realized to my shock this was a celebration of our 10th anniversary as pastor of CLA. I was so touched by the recognition, standing ovation, prayer of blessing, and kind words of affirmation. Then others reached out, it was so thoughtful and unexpected. Thank you so much. This ministry, all that we’ve achieved by God’s grace over the last decade, the victories, expansions, trials, transitions and coming through COVID was due to the prayers of the saints, the strengths of our teams and the blessings of our volunteers. I’ve been so blessed by this great family. I love you.
As we begin our 11th year of ministry, I humbly request your ongoing prayers. Here are some thoughts from a former teacher and author J.I. Packer, " In Satan's war on the saints and the church, in which temptation is his method and destruction his immediate goal, it is a rather grim law that the higher one's exposure and the greater one's influence as a leader, the more one's personal standards and wisdom will be put under attack. It is obvious that disgracing or distracting the leader is an excellent way of daunting, holding back or otherwise sidelining the followers. People trust their leaders and follow in their steps; if leaders can be allured into bypaths and blind alleys, they will take many with them and Satan will score heavily. All Christians must learn to pray with Nehemiah, ‘O God strengthen my hands’ Nehemiah 6:9”. Please continue to pray for me and for the pastors of CLA. Here is a list of Langley Campus Pastors.
